Title: God’s Plans for Your Peace
Jeremiah 29:11 in the King James Version reads: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
This verse carries one of the most beautiful promises in all of Scripture. God is speaking directly to His people through the prophet Jeremiah, telling them that despite the difficult circumstances they find themselves in, He has not forgotten them. The word “thoughts” here speaks to the intimate care and attention God gives to each of our lives. He is not random in how He guides us. Every twist and turn of our journey has been considered by a loving Father who has our best interest at heart.
The phrase “thoughts of peace, and not of evil” reassures us that God’s intentions toward us are never harmful. Even when life feels confusing or painful, we can trust that He is working toward something good. And “an expected end” suggests that God has a destination for us—a hope and a future that we can anticipate with confidence.
Now, how do we live this out in everyday life? One practical way is to pause each morning and consciously release your worries to God. Before you check your phone or worry about the day’s demands, take three minutes to speak to Him. Say something like, “Lord, I give you today and all its concerns. I trust that You have good plans for me.” This small habit trains your heart to lean on God’s peace rather than your own understanding.
Let me share a simple story. There was a woman named Martha who faced an uncertain future when her job was suddenly eliminated. She felt anxious and uncertain about how she would provide for her family. But she remembered this promise from Jeremiah and began to pray each morning, releasing her fears to God. Over the months that followed, she discovered opportunities she never expected, and eventually found work that was more meaningful than what she had before. She often said that those morning prayers changed her perspective from fear to faith.
May you trust today that God’s plans for you are good.
