Dwelling of God
We intend to give the deeper doctrines to the spiritually thirsty souls. However in today’s modern and fast paced world people want to hear pleasant and sweet things and they want to only look at the promises in the Bible and claim it.
Certainly the promises are good and true, the bible it full of them, because Jesus Loves you and wants to bless you, but in order to claim the promises we need to abide by the conditions God had laid out for us. If you want your father or mothers inheritance in this world you need to live according to your parents wishes.
A good example is Psalm 91. What beautiful, powerful and strong promises are mentioned in this chapter, In fact no other chapter give such great promises. I am sure you may have read in so many books, calendars, message’s etc.
Psalm 91
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
But did you know that all these promises is only for a child of God who passes the condition in verse 1?
He that ‘dwelleth’, This one word will determine whether you are getting all above blessings or not. How can you dwell with God?.
We cannot dwell ‘in’ God, we cannot even approach God.
1 Tim 6:16
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
Therefore if we cannot approach God, the choice we have is for God to dwell in us. Because of Christ’s death on the cross and ‘he’ selecting ‘us’ and we repenting and reconciling with him our body becomes the living temple of the living God. Therefore we can boldly invite him to dwell in us by giving into Jesus’s will completely.
II Cor 6:16
….for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
But remember, Satan also wants to dwell in us, so we need to be alert and to make sure we our filled with the word of God and with continuous prayer, so that our dwelling is not an empty space for Satan and his evil spirits.
Mathew 12:43-45
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
When we understand word and prepare our dwelling and invite God to dwell in us, we will be able to get all promises in Psalm 91 and the most valuable and beautiful promise in the last one.
Look at your house today and beg the holy spirit to do a assessment.
God Bless you.
