Title: God Has Good Plans for You
Jeremiah 29:11 in the King James Version reads: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
This verse is a beautiful promise from God to His people. During a time when the Israelites were exiled in Babylon, feeling forgotten and discouraged, God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah to reassure them. He wasn’t promising a life without difficulties or a shortcut around their struggles. Rather, He was declaring that even in their captivity, He had not abandoned them. His intentions toward them were good, not harmful. He saw their future not as destruction, but as hope and blessing. The “expected end” speaks of a confident expectation—a tomorrow that holds purpose and meaning.
When you face uncertain days, whether in your career, relationships, health, or dreams, this verse reminds you that your Heavenly Father is not working against you. He is not plotting your failure or wishing you harm. Even when circumstances feel like they are falling apart, His plans are still in motion for your wellbeing.
A practical way to apply this verse today is to pause each morning and consciously release your worries to God. Before checking your phone or diving into work, spend just two minutes acknowledging that God holds your day in His hands. Write down one thing you are grateful for and one concern you need to trust Him with. This small habit trains your heart to redirect its focus from fear to faith.
Consider Sarah, a mother of three who recently lost her job. For weeks, she woke in anxiety, replaying her financial fears. Then she remembered this promise. Each morning, she began to pray simply: “Lord, I trust that You have good plans for my family today.” Within weeks, an unexpected opportunity arose—one she never would have pursued had she not been open to new paths. Her “expected end” looked different than she imagined, but it was far better than she had feared.
God’s plans are not always what we expect, but they are always for our good. Trust Him today.
