Title: A Promise for Your Tomorrow
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
When God spoke these words through the prophet Jeremiah, the people of Israel were living in exile in Babylon. They had lost their homes, their temple, and their sense of purpose. It must have felt like their lives were over. But God, through His prophet, was telling them something remarkable: even in the midst of their suffering, He had a plan for their welfare, not harm. He was not standing against them but standing with them, working out a future filled with hope.
This verse carries a personal promise for you today. Whatever circumstances you find yourself in, whether you are facing uncertainty at work, struggling in a relationship, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, God has not forgotten you. His intentions toward you are good. He sees the whole picture of your life, and He is actively working behind the scenes to bring about something beautiful from every situation.
Consider Margaret, a woman I once knew who lost her job unexpectedly in her mid-fifties. She felt devastated and wondered if her best days were behind her. But instead of giving up, she began to trust in God’s promise that He had a plan for her welfare. She used her unexpected free time to volunteer at a local food bank, where she discovered a passion for helping others. Within a year, she was offered a position at a nonprofit organization that changed her career path entirely. Looking back, she could see how that difficult season was actually a doorway to something greater.
To implement this verse in your daily life, start each morning by reminding yourself that God is for you. When worries creep in, take a moment to pray and surrender those concerns to Him.Trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Then, look for small ways to act in faith—whether it is taking a step toward a goal, extending kindness to someone around you, or simply resting in the assurance that you are not forgotten. Your expected end is in His hands.
