Title: God’s Good Plans for You
“For I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord, plans of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
This verse is one of the most beloved promises in all of Scripture. The Lord, through the prophet Jeremiah, spoke these words to the people of Israel while they were in captivity in Babylon. They were far from home, facing hardship, and wondering if God had forgotten them. In that difficult season, God spoke directly to their hearts and told them something that should encourage us today: He has plans for them—plans for peace, not harm, and hope for their future.
What does this mean for you today? It means that no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, God has not abandoned you. Even when life feels confusing, painful, or uncertain, the Lord is at work behind the scenes. He sees the whole picture that you cannot see. His intentions toward you are good, not destructive. He is preparing something meaningful for you, not ruin.
Now, how can you live this out today? Here is a practical way to apply this verse: when you wake up tomorrow, take a moment before you reach for your phone or think about your to-do list, and remind yourself that God has a plan for your day that is for your good. Not everything will go perfectly. There will be frustrations. But when difficulties arise, pause and remember that this is part of something larger that God is working out. You can trust Him with the outcome.
Let me share a simple story with you. There was a woman named Ruth who had been searching for a job for months. She felt discouraged and began to wonder if her situation would ever improve. One day, a friend reminded her of this verse from Jeremiah. Ruth decided to change her perspective. Instead of viewing each rejection as a dead end, she began to see them as steps leading somewhere she could not yet see. She kept applying, kept trusting, and eventually found a position that not only provided for her needs but also connected her with wonderful colleagues who became like family. Looking back, she could see how God had directed her path all along.
Friend, whatever you are facing today, hold onto this promise. God knows the plans He has for you. They are good. They are for your peace. And they lead to a hopeful future. Trust Him with today, and watch what He does.
