Title: God Has Good Plans for You
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
This verse is one of the most beloved promises in all of Scripture. The context is important: Jeremiah wrote these words to the Jewish people who were living in exile in Babylon. They were far from home, feeling forgotten, and wondering if God had abandoned them. Into that darkness of heartache and uncertainty, God spoke these tender words.
What does this verse mean? It means that God has not forgotten you. Even when life feels chaotic, confusing, or painful, His intentions toward you are good. He is not plotting your failure or downfall. Rather, He is working out a plan that leads to hope and a future. The word “expected end” speaks of something anticipated with confidence—not a random outcome, but a purposeful destination.
Now, how do we live this out today? When you wake up tomorrow, try this: before you check your phone or worry about the day’s tasks, pause and simply speak this verse aloud. Say it as a prayer: “Lord, I trust that You have good plans for me today.” Then go about your day watching for one small way God shows His goodness—whether it’s a kind word from a stranger, a problem that resolves easily, or a moment of peace amid the rush.
Let me share a story with you. There was a woman named Martha who faced a difficult season. Her job was uncertain, her health was failing, and she felt stuck. One day, her friend gave her a small card with Jeremiah 29:11 written on it. Martha placed it in her wallet and read it every morning for a month. At first, she felt silly. But gradually, her mindset shifted. She started looking for God’s goodness instead of only seeing problems. Within months, she found a new job that suited her better, and her health improved. Was it magic? No. But she had trained her heart to trust instead of panic.
May you trust today that God indeed has good plans for you.
