We have heard this many times but most of us don’t know the true meaning of the simple yet powerful promise.
The main points here are “truth” and “freedom”. Isn’t that amazing, if we know the truth it will set us free.
Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
What is the truth? Truth is Jesus.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Who is Jesus?
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us
So here the truth simply is the Jesus who in turn is the Word of God
If we know and believe that the Word of God is the truth, it will set us free!
Free from what?
All of us are in bondage to Sin, fears, anxieties, sickness, grief and various problems. These problems come and bond us and deprive us of peave, happiness, joy, freedom.
When we know and believe that the Word of God is true we are free from this Bondage
Are you suffering from sickness? Is sickness a bondage to you?
Did you know that the Word of God is true to every letter as it raised people from the dead? Elisha, Elijah, Jesus all did raised people from the dead, as you read in the Word and it is the truth. So why be in bondage to sickness. The Word which set them free will work in your life too.
Are you suffering from money issues? Is lack of money a bondage to you?
Did you know that God provided the Widow who was about to die, oil which never ran out? Did you know that a shepherd boy from a poor family became a rich powerful king named David? Did you know a forgotten prisoner in a dungeon became the governor of Egypt over night named Joseph? Did you know that the guest of a wedding were not disappointed as water was turned into wine by Jesus. All these was the truth and if this is the truth it will work in your life too. No money problem is big enough for the all powerful truth. Believe it the Word and it will set you free
Are you suffering from addictions?
Did you know that Soul who was a murderer and a terrible person changed in a second to a soft and kind man of God named Paul? The truth is that you cannot change yourself But God can change you. If God changed all these people will change your too, so be free.
Are you suffering from Fear? Has fear become a bondage to you?
Did you know that a feeble person who cannot talk, who refused God three times at the burning Bush, when invited to lead the Israelite’s became one of the most powerful leaders of all time called Moses? Did you know that a person who hid when invited to become King eventually became one of the most fearless men of God call Saul? Did you know that feeble person with fear who disowned Christ three times became a powerful fearless preacher named Peter. All this is true, word for word. Your fear can only be defeated by God. This is the truth. Why be bonded with fear. Be free. The truth which is written about all these witnesses will work in your life too. God will set your free from fear.
As you can see
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
So today lets us make a pact not worry or be bonded by anything which deprives us from the peace of God. Instead we will believe in the Word and know the truth, that no problem is big enough for our God
