Psa 121
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Being an ardent admirer of tropical fish, I have two fish tanks at home, One consists of Gold fish and the other consists of Cat fish. Last week I decided to clean both tanks myself after a long period.
When I tried to empty the water in the Cat fish tank even before I could start the process, the Cat fish started running riot jumping and getting excited. Some fell off the tank and it was mere pandemonium. Still I did slow empty the water and clean the tank it was quite difficult but somehow I managed to complete the task.
Then came the Gold fish tank – I was emptying the water but the Gold fish were not bothered at all… 3/4 then 1/2 and 1/4 slowly the water is emptying but the Gold fish were swimming with gaiety going about munching on left off scraps at the bottom of the tank. I was keenly watching over specially the last two inches as I wanted the correct amount of water to drain to quickly stop the outflow… The Gold fish were not bothered a eye blink, of course when the right amount came, I quickly stopped the outflow and cleaned the tank and filled the water back again.
This taught me an important lesson, both fish tanks were cleaned for the betterment of the fish, they were much happier after the clean up, one type of fish relaxed and enjoyed the fresh tank the other type were fearful and injured themselves and went through trauma before receiving their clean tank.
How when God almighty designs to clean up our own lives we thrash around with fear and doubt, but he does watch over us specially at the times when we think all is lost and at the right time he releases fresh water back into our lives when we think we will just drown.
How easy it is when we relax and give total control over to Jesus?
We must learn to face a storm with a calm as the storm is nothing more than a norm in God’s dawn
